CHRIS HOWCROFT

Lighting Designer — Theatre Technician — Philosopher for Hire

Introductory notes

I'm a theatre technician and light designer living in London. As well as my CV, this portfolio holds a growing collection of samples from past works (although this is sadly inhibited by a lack of decent photographs from early work, including the bulk of my designs at the UEA. Notably, 'How I learnt to Drive' and 'Widows' are conspicuous by their absence). I'm normally happy to do design work for small groups and companies at a reasonable rate, which tends to decrease if the project is interesting. The 'manifesto' below should give anyone looking for a designer a vague feel for my approach.

For details of past designs, see the galleries. For my CV, including details of previous employment and designs not yet represented in the galleries, follow the appropriate links for html or pdf format.
